What are the requirements and fees for JAMB registration, and how can candidates ensure they meet all criteria?

Registration/ Fees:

The registration for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) orgainised by JAMB began on Monday, February 3, 2025, and it  concluded on Saturday, March 8, 2025.

The total cost for the 2025 UTME varies depending on whether a candidate is opting to take the mock examination.

The breakdown is as follows: UTME/DE application fee- ₦3,500, Reading Text,- ₦1,000, CBT centre registration service charge- ₦700, CBT Centre UTME service charge-₦1,500, CBT Mock service charge- ₦1,500, Bank charges- ₦500, CBT Mock-UTME centre service charge- ₦1,500.

Grand total could be N10,200 or N7,200 depending on whether the candidate is taking the mock examination or not.
    

Eligibility for JAMB Registration 2025/2026
Who Can Register for JAMB?

    Age Requirement: Candidates must be at least 16 years old by the year of admission.

    Education Level:
        Candidates must have completed secondary school and obtained O’Level results with at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics, and other relevant subjects.

        For Direct Entry (DE) candidates, additional qualifications like a diploma, NCE, or A-level passes are required.


To register for JAMB 2025/2026, candidates must have the following:

    National Identification Number (NIN)

 
        A unique 11-digit number issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).
        Required for creating a JAMB profile and completing the registration process.
        If you don’t have a NIN, visit any NIMC center to enroll.

    JAMB Profile Code
        Generated by sending your NIN to 55019 or 66019 via SMS (₦50 fee applies).
        Needed to purchase the ePIN and complete the registration.

    Active Phone Number
        Must be valid and accessible throughout the registration and examination process.
    Valid Email Address
        Used to create the JAMB profile and access the JAMB portal.

    O’Level/A’Level Results
        Candidates must present results from WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or GCE.
        Those awaiting results can still register but must upload their results on the JAMB portal before admission.

    JAMB ePIN
        A unique registration code purchased from accredited outlets for ₦3,500.
    Biodata and Passport Photograph
        Includes personal details like name, date of birth, gender, and local government area.
